- The consistency between invoicing and accounting, when both modules were used without a link.
A file on your own machine belongs entirely to you. So does the backup.
That is the part people forget. We regularly see Crésus files backed up on the same disk as the original, which protects against nothing. If you stay local, the first thing we put in place is not an accounting matter: it is a backup somewhere else, verified.
Is Crésus still a sensible choice in 2026?
Yes, and particularly for payroll: the Swissdec ELM 5.0 certification is current, and Swiss law is natively handled. What it does not bring is an integrated commercial management suite; for that, other tools fit better.
Can two people work on the same file?
Locally, not without precautions: the file lends itself poorly to simultaneous work. That is the main reason we recommend the online version when the firm and the company both need access.
Can you take over a Crésus file kept by another firm?
Yes. It is even the simplest case, provided we get the file itself and not only a PDF of the accounts. The file is part of what must be handed back to you.
Should we migrate from Crésus to an online tool?
Not as a matter of principle. Migration is justified when several people have to enter data, when invoicing becomes heavy, or when the local backup is not maintained. Otherwise, changing costs more than it brings.
