Should you change your fiduciary?
Eight questions on response times, deadlines, fees and the follow-up of your file. You get a score out of 100, an opinion on three levels and three recommendations. Often, the right answer is to talk to your fiduciary (accountant) first.
What the test measures
A fiduciary serves you well if they respond, meet deadlines, invoice clearly and know your file. The test gives the same weight to each of these points. It does not compare fiduciaries with one another.
- Stay (75 and above): the relationship works; the recommendations help you keep it that way.
- Talk about it (50 to 74): set out your expectations to your fiduciary, with specific, dated requests.
- Consider a change (below 50): if a meeting changes nothing, prepare a switch without any gap in your deadlines.
